Scripture: If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold, ‘You are my security,’ if I have rejoiced over my great wealth, the fortune my hands had gained, then these also would be sins to be judged, for I would have been unfaithful to God on high. (Job 31:24, 25, 28)
Prayer: God, thank you for the material blessings that you have so graciously provided, help me not to trust in them–or my skills–more than I trust in you.
Reflection: The thing you trust most in is revealed your moments of worry. Anxiety is like a bright light in a dark basement revealing the quality of the foundation on which the house is built.
